FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How long will it take to tint my vehicle?
A: Installation time ranges from 1.5 - 3 hours depending on how many windows are being tinted and what type of vehicle it is. We will give you an estimated time when you make your appointment.

Q: Should I drop off my vehicle or wait?
A: You can do what works best with your schedule. We do have a waiting area for customers who choose to stay for the installation.

Q: How long should I keep my windows rolled up after I have window tint installed?
A: We recommend keeping your windows up for at least 4-5 days. If windows are rolled down before that time frame the tint could peel off because it has not had enough time to cure. Should this happen, it is not covered under the warranty but we can redo your window at a low cost.

Q: I just had my windows tinted and they look a little hazy. Is this normal?
A: Yes, this is completely normal and temporary. For the first few days after your windows are tinted they might appear cloudy, and you may see little water pockets forming underneath the film. This is very normal. When windows are tinted, the tools we use can only remove a certain amount of the water from between the film and the glass. As the film dries, the remaining water will form little pockets, then evaporate. The amount of time before your new tint will be totally dry is determined by the amount of sunlight it gets. This time frame can range from 3 days, up to 1 month.

Q: What should I use to clean my tinted windows?
A: After tint is installed on your windows, you should wait one week before cleaning them. This is so you don’t risk pulling the tint loose before it has a chance to fully stick to your glass. After we install your tint, the windows will have been lightly wiped down, but will probably need a proper cleaning with a soft paper towel and any non-ammonia cleaner. Do not use any blue colored cleaners because they usually contain ammonia. You can also use soap and water, vinegar and water, or anything without ammonia or abrasives.

Q: What causes window tinting to turn purple and bubble?
A: UV rays and excessive heat build-up are usually the cause of bubbles forming in the window tint. The bubbles are a result of a failure in the films glue to adhere to the glass. You can protect yourself from this potential problem by purchasing a major brand name window tint material that provides a manufacture backed warranty against fading and bubbling.

Q: I have old film on car can you tint over it or does it need to be removed?

A: We recommend that the old film be removed in order to get the best quality for your tint. Removals do take quite some time and depending on the condition of the film and how it comes off you may risk losing your rear defroster grid. We can tint over old film but it is not recommend and it does not come with a warranty.

Q: I just had my car tinted and it looks like there is a white line on the edge of the rear glass is this normal?

A: Yes this is normal on most cars. Back windows have a dot matrix around the edges of the visible glass that prevents the tint from sticking in between those dots causing this white appearance. The film is fine and will not come off, but this effect is unfortunately unavoidable.

Q: I just had my car tinted and it appears there are scratches on the outside of the glass that where not there before?

A: The window film is placed on the inside of the windows. Window tint will amplify any small imperfections that are not originally seen due to dark contrast that can make those imperfections stand out more.

Q: Does the tint go on the outside or inside?
A: The short answer is on the inside. At times, depending on the curvature of the glass, the film may be laid on the outside of the window to shrink the film with a heat gun. This is done to precisely fit the film to your window before it is installed as usual on the inside. Also the pattern used to cut the windows is done on the outside of car and when the film is installed it put on the inside of the window.

Q: How durable is window tint?
A: Our customers inquire about the durability of window film at times. Everyday use, kids, and pets are common concerns but damage is usually confined to smudges that just need to be cleaned. Quality window film protects against damage with a hard scratch-resistant coating. However, resistant is the key word. Be careful when loading sharp edged objects because it is possible to tear even the best window film.

Q: Will you travel to my home to tint my vehicle?
A: Sorry, we do not travel to install window film on vehicles. Window tinting must be done inside a controlled environment to prevent dirt, dust and debris from getting under the film. We do travel for residential or commercial window tinting jobs.
